Birthday candles. Shooting stars. 11:11 on the clock. Anytime I get to make a wish, it is always the same. "I want my daughters to live a long, healthy, happy life." That's it. That's my greatest wish and the only thing I think about when I close my eyes and whisper in my own mind what I desire above all else. Long. Healthy. Happy. Three concepts that each rely on the other.

When I was in my early 30s and a family friend died of a heart attack two weeks before his own daughter's wedding, I realized the profound role food plays in each of these core wishes for them. You want to live a long life? Eat nourishing food. You want to be healthy? Eat nourishing food. You want to feel happy? Eat nourishing food.

Food, food, food. It can completely ruin us or be our greatest, life-sustaining, soul-nourishing, energy-giving gift. I want it to be the latter for my family and for everyone I meet. I went back to graduate school in my mid-30s because I was so excited to lean into this idea and learn all I could.

We are not meant to crawl across the finish line of life. This one, gorgeous, beautiful life is meant to be enjoyed right up until the very end and food is a huge part of that. It can bring us so much joy and sustain us if we just slow down and listen to our bodies' needs. But it's not easy. It takes time. It takes support. That's where I come in.

The COVID-19 world has brought many unforeseen challenges for us all, including job loss for me. I was working as a Campus Dietitian for Sodexo Quality of Life Services in their Universities Division. I loved my job and I was truly saddened to be laid off due to this pandemic. But because of that newly created space, I am finally, blissfully launching my Nutrition Consulting practice to be your support on your health journey, which was always my dream.

In truth, I wanted to start this practice five years ago because I was so excited about how good I finally felt, but I felt a responsibility to guide others only from a place of evidence-based knowledge, real world training and hours of supervision under experienced practitioners. And I'm so glad I did. I don't have all the answers by any means, but I am here to help you weed through the noise of diet culture, body shaming, food restriction and general confusion surrounding how to eat well and feel good.

I come to you with a deep, genuine to desire to help you better your life. Through concepts like mindful eating and whole body health, we will vision your healthy future together. Here we go!
